Frequently Asked Questions

Q - What is a Giclée? (And why does it cost so much?)
A - A Giclée is a reproduction produced by spraying pigment directly onto paper or canvas. The reproductions are slowly produced one at a time and the materials are relatively expensive. The giclée process allows for the closest approximation to the original art that we have found.

Q - What is a Limited Edition?
A - A Limited Edition print is signed and numbered by the artist. The number of prints in an edition is determined by the Artist in advance. The prints are numbered from 1 through the last number of the edition size. When all prints in an edition are sold no more are produced and the edition is sold out.

Q - What is an Artist's Proof?
A - Artist Proof's are the first prints of an edition off the press approved by the artist. This edition is usually 10% of the Limited Edition print edition. Some collectors prize them as more collectable. They are usually numbered to indicate the smaller edition size followed or preceded by the letters AP.

Q - Do you have a Gallery?
A - Vintson Studio is a private studio and not a gallery. Many galleries carry Sherry's fine art prints. If you have a local gallery you would prefer to work with they can contact us.

Q - Do you have other products? Can I get them from you/where can I get them?
A- Many stores and website's carry various products with images licensed by Sherry Vintson. At this time we only offer prints and reproductions published by Vintson Studio.

Q - Does Sherry do commission work?
A - Sherry's schedule allows for only occasional commission work.

Q - Are Sherry's originals for sale?
A - Some originals are available. Please contact Vintson Studio for further information regarding original paintings.

Q - What kind of materials are used in Vintson Studio reproductions?
A - We use heavy weight acid free (ph neutral, archival) papers and canvas as well as high quality fade resistant inks and pigments. Additional UV coatings are used where applicable. As with original art, reproductions should not be left exposed to direct sunlight.
